From the age of 13 I have had dreams and desires of being with children in the dirt of Africa. I’ve prayed for many years that God would send me to Africa to work with children if this was His will. I attended university to complete my degree in social work, and it was during this time I went on my first short-term mission to South Africa. After completing my degree in social work, I began working for a non-profit organization in a program called family preservation that offered services to high-risk families to prevent their children from placement into foster care. There my desire to work with families and children grew even more with a real longing to share with those hurting the hope that is found only in Jesus. At this time God gave me a burden to keep families together in a healthy family unit, where possible. While working as a social worker I went on my next short-term mission trip to Uganda with my church in Detroit, MI. It was there that I felt confirmation from the Spirit that it was now time to step into full-time missions, and God had opened the door to Uganda.

I moved to Ishaka, a city in the western region of Uganda, in October 2017. I am now building a ministry, only empowered by the Spirit of God!, which aims at sharing the gospel and then discipling children and families. I am ministering to a few families in nearby villages and in the community by building Christ-centered relationships to meet spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the families. I visit the homes of them and have seen the Lord provide through paying school fees for children, providing food, and basic medical needs each month. It is my greatest joy to watch as God Himself transforms families that is only possible through the gospel.

Shortly after moving to Uganda, I met Lameck at my church. We began doing ministry together in the villages, where our friendship grew, and God began a love that would last a lifetime. Lameck is in medical school to be a doctor and is currently pastoring at Ishaka Community Church in Uganda.  We are engaged to be married in August 2019 and can’t wait to continue to build the Kingdom of God together!

My prayer is that we would daily live out the love and compassion of Christ. We are so thankful for each partner the Lord gives, as it is a team effort to fulfill the mission to grow His Kingdom in Uganda and to the ends of the earth! Thank you for allowing us to continue to say yes to God. God bless you all!”
