God called me to Kenya in 2001 with a seemingly simple assignment – to love my neighbor, the second greatest commandment. The ‘neighbors’ to whom God supernaturally connected me are single parents and single-parent children. It’s a perfect example of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Because I went through an unwanted divorce many years ago and subsequently raised my four children on my own, I am now able to encourage others in similar circumstances.
Sometimes that encouragement takes on the form of financial assistance, whether it be for start-up capital for a small business, money to dig a well, or paying school fees so children can get an education.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
